Vendor relations
Micron Technologies is one of our clients. We work them on a regular basis.... it is a multi-million dollar contract, so you can bet that we are going to take good care of them. When they call, we always answer. When they ask for something, you can bet we are going to say, "Right now it will be done."
And we do it.
What is most amazing is how they treat our company. They are the model client. As long as we are fair and honest with them, there is no bickering about contracts. They have realistic expectations. When we fall short, rather than complaining to their friends and moaning that we just don't get it, they call us and we work out the problem. What we have found is that we take better care of them more because of how they treat us than because of the paycheck.
We have a great partnership.
When you treat your vendors well, you will find that they will do more for you than just because they will earn a few dollars. Sometimes the money is just not worth the hassle that you have to put up with. If you bully your vendor, you may find that your vendors will start to disappear and then your negotiating power goes away.
