Business Growth and Walt Minnick
I know, it has been a long time since I have written on this blog.
In fact, it has been just over nine months.
I have written a bit on my personal blog, but not here.
But, I have a good excuse.
Business has been good. Tribute Media has more than doubled in revenue and we have increased from four employees to ten in the last 12 months.
I have a picture of Walt Minnick to the left because I attended a town hall meeting with him today. He came to speak where the Tribute Media offices are at VengaWorks. He spoke with small business owners and I had the opportunity to speak to the same audience about my business a little. I decided that rather than plugging my business, I spoke for just a few minutes on business growth. What I tried to accomplish was to give other business owners a hope that their businesses can grow an they can be successful in 2010.
I am personally convinced that any business can see success in any market... it all depends on the definition of success. Success may not be growth. Success may be maintaining the status quo or minimizing loss. It may be laying of half your force so that the other half can still be employed.
Fortunately for us, business has been very good. We have grown and anticipate more growth in 2010. We are positioned to grow three times from our current size and hope to hire 10 - 12 more people in the next 12 months.
I want to thank Mr. Minnick for speaking to the business owners at the town hall. It was a good experience. Even though he is not of my political party affiliation, I appreciate his approach to politics. His approach is riddled with common sense. Now, I don't agree with everything he says or stands for I certainly like him more now that I have had an opportunity to hear his thoughts on various topics.
