A Thinker’s View of Health Insurance
Hold your horses. I am going to talk about health insurance.
However, I am going to avoid waxing too political... primarily because I am tired of the politics surrounding a financial decision. I am tired of the Democrats accusing the Republicans of being partisan and vice versa.
I think that if people understood that health insurance is a financial decision and not a decision based on “caring” or “compassion” then we would probably come to a solution to our problem.
The premise of this post is that the problem with the health care debate is the assumption that health care insurance actually costs less than just paying for the service.

American Health Care… is it really that bad?
My daughter needed a surgery for her eyes. We had a nightmare of a time getting everything figured out with insurance. We had to reschedule two times before we could complete the surgery.
Yesterday, Jenna went in for the surgery and today she received a get well card. Not just a generic card with a couple of signatures, but personal notes from the pre-op nurse, the doctor, the recovery nurse and three people from the recovery team.
Today, I also received a call to see how she was doing.
She is two... she won't remember this, but her parents will remember and we certainly appreciate this.
