I Just Started a New Blog

The official announcement goes out Monday, but since I already started blogging, I copiercatalog logothought I would make mention here.

I am starting a new project designed for copier, printer and MFP dealerships. At CopierCatalog.com, we provide dealerships a way to post catalogs automatically to their site so their site visitors don't need to leave the website to do their research.

I figured at the same time, I might as well start another blog. At CopierCatalog.com, I now blog on website development, SEO and all things related there. Will the Real Corey Smith Please Step Forward

Or... My quest to be number one.

That is not an easy thing when there is a country singer named Corey Smith that owns coreysmith.com and a Corey Smith that is a defensive end for the the Detroit Lions. (So I may not bee the best lookin' one...you can blame that on my Dad).

When I started my blog just over a year ago and I Googled "Corey Smith" I don't think that I was in the top 100 pages of search results. I started keeping track of my results in November of last year and I made it to position 63 (page 7). continue reading...

Is there any doubt why Google has over 60% market-share in search? Even if the search algorithm is better somewhere else (which I don't think it is), Google simply provides the easiest user experience for search.

How are you found?

Search Engine Optimization is a funny thing. We do our best to put in the right site description. We do our best to optimize our meta tags. (in both cases, you put too many words in or the wrong words and you are doing more harm for your site than good). You might have purchased or had friends put links on their sites to try and drive traffic.

You might have a blog like I do so that you can get more content. The fact is, you never know how people are going to find you. You never know what people are looking for when they come accross your site. continue reading...
